Commando and Scorpion Disassembly
Jump to the Commando or Scorpion
These are the two easiest designs in the Battlefield Live armory to pull apart. Since their disassembly (and entire construction!) is so simple we've thrown them in together on this one page.
Commando

The Commando cowling is mercifully simple. Remove the screws on both sides along the bottom of the cowling and you're done except for one tricky little bugger... |
There is one screw on the inside of the handle that holds the cowling down. It's easy to miss. Don't forget to put it back in, too! |
The trigger/grip assembly comes off almost as easily. Starting with the screws to the rear of the cowling take out all except the far back screw on each side. (Sorry the picture is so small.) The bummer? What you can see in the picture is about the most clearance you can get between the body and trigger/grip housing. Make sure you have needle-nosed pliers on hand. |
Scorpion
If you think a Commando is easy, wait until you open up a Scorpion. Take off the screws along the bottom of the cowling on both sides and you're done with both the cowling and the trigger assembly. |
The best part about the Scorpion's guts? They're all easily accessible once the cowling is off and there's plenty of wire to open it up wide! This fact alone would make it worth using Scorpions rather than any other lasertag system on the market for a traditional-style lasertag business. |
